The terms that govern your use of the Walnut Therapy website, our sessions, and our programs.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Walnut Therapy. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Walnut Therapy website and services, including therapy sessions, Walnut Academy programs, healing circles, monthly gatherings, and any other offerings we make available.

By accessing our website, booking a session, enrolling in a program, or engaging with our services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. About Walnut Therapy

Walnut Therapy is an online mental health practice based in Bangalore, India. We offer:

  • One-to-one therapy for individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents.
  • Psychiatric support, where indicated.
  • Academic and training programs through Walnut Academy.
  • Healing circles and monthly community gatherings.
  • Related content, resources, and events.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to independently book a therapy session or enrol in a Walnut Academy program.
  • Anyone under the age of 18 may access services only with the informed consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
  • By using our services, you confirm that the information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. Services Offered

a. Therapy Sessions

  • Sessions are conducted online via secure video or voice calls.
  • In limited circumstances, in-person sessions may be arranged at partner spaces, subject to the mutual availability of the therapist and the client in the same city.
  • Sessions are led by qualified therapists, counsellors, psychologists, and psychiatrists engaged with Walnut Therapy.

b. Walnut Academy Programs

  • Programs are designed for psychology graduates, practicing therapists, and psychology students.
  • Enrolment is subject to eligibility, availability, and successful completion of the enrolment process.
  • Course materials, worksheets, and content shared as part of the programs remain the intellectual property of Walnut Therapy.

c. Healing Circles and Monthly Gatherings

  • Healing circles are small, closed groups facilitated by a Walnut therapist.
  • Monthly gatherings are community events open to the wider Walnut circle.
  • Participants are expected to maintain confidentiality about anything shared within these spaces by other members.

5. Booking, Payments, and Cancellations

  • Bookings for therapy sessions, programs, and events must be made through our official platforms.
  • All payments are processed securely through our payment partner, Razorpay.
  • Once payment is confirmed, your booking is considered final unless cancelled in accordance with our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

6. Client Responsibilities

By using our services, you agree to:

  • Provide honest and accurate information during onboarding and throughout your engagement with us.
  • Attend sessions and programs on time and prepared.
  • Maintain a private, quiet, and undisturbed environment during online sessions.
  • Not record, screenshot, transmit, or share session content in any form, whether audio, video, image, or text.
  • Not reproduce or distribute Walnut Academy course materials, worksheets, or any Walnut Therapy content without written permission.
  • Behave respectfully towards therapists, facilitators, and other participants.

7. Therapist-Client Relationship

  • Therapists at Walnut Therapy are qualified professionals engaged with the platform.
  • The therapeutic relationship is between you and your therapist, and is governed by professional ethics and confidentiality standards.
  • To protect the privacy of both parties, personal contact details are not exchanged between clients and therapists outside of the Walnut Therapy platform.

8. Emergencies

  • Walnut Therapy is designed for planned, structured therapy and mental health support, and is not equipped to handle emergencies or acute crisis situations.
  • If something urgent arises between sessions, please refer to the arrangement discussed with your therapist at the start of your engagement.
  • For immediate, in-person care, please contact your nearest hospital, emergency service, or mental health helpline.

9. Respectful Conduct

Walnut Therapy is committed to a safe, ethical, and respectful space for both clients and therapists. To protect everyone in the community, the following behaviours are not permitted:

  • Sexually explicit, inappropriate, or suggestive language or behaviour towards a therapist or facilitator.
  • Verbal abuse, aggression, coercion, or manipulation of a therapist or team member.
  • Fraudulent activity, including chargeback fraud, false transaction claims, use of unauthorised payment methods, or booking sessions under a false identity.
  • Misuse of the platform for purposes unrelated to therapy or training, including harassment, recording without consent, or data extraction.
  • Attempts to force free sessions, bargain aggressively after booking, or pressure staff outside the platform.

Sessions may be ended by the therapist at their discretion if any of these behaviours occur. In such cases, no refunds will be issued, and further access to Walnut Therapy may be suspended or blocked. Serious violations may be reported to the relevant authorities under applicable Indian laws.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All content on the Walnut Therapy website, including text, images, worksheets, course materials, resources, logos, and branding, is the intellectual property of Walnut Therapy.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any part of our content for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Walnut Therapy.

11. Third-Party Services

  • We use third-party platforms and services to deliver our work, including Razorpay for payments, Jitsi Meet for video sessions, and tools such as Zoho Mail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, and Cal.com for scheduling and communication.
  • Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

12. Limitation of Liability

  • Walnut Therapy provides mental health services through qualified professionals. However, therapy outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and depend on the active participation and engagement of the client.
  • Walnut Therapy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising out of the use of our services, technical disruptions, or events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

13. Suspension and Termination

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our services if a user breaches these Terms, behaves inappropriately, or acts in a manner that compromises the safety or wellbeing of others.
  • You may discontinue your engagement with Walnut Therapy at any time by informing us in writing.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
  • Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka.

15. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, with the updated date at the top.
  • Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
